The first of many land sports to be launched under our new SLI Sport Academy, our Track & Field programmes are open to all competitive and recreational athletes seeking group training in a vibrant and energetic setting.

Our Track & Field programmes consist of 3 main components:

  1. Athletics training – consisting of run, jump and throw activities – conducted at Queenstown Stadium up to
    3 times a week
  2. Functional fitness workouts in our gym room at SLI Centre.
  3. Rehabilitation – which consists of aqua training, physio treatment and injury prevention – at SLI Centre

Our training programmes are customised to suit the needs of every athlete depending on their current fitness level, training history, and injury history, and are open to kids as young as 5 years old all the way to adult elite high-performance athletes.

Athletes are put into age-group appropriate classes:

  • Stage 1: Fundamental Motor Skills Development (honing the basic motor skills for running, jumping and
    throwing) – for children 4-8 years old
  • Stage 2: Kids’ Developmental Athletics (broad based, multi-event approach) – for children 9-12 years old
  •  Stage 3: Youth Athletics I (event group training) – for teens 13-16 years old

  • Stage 4: Specialisation and High Performance – athletes aged 17 onwards
